According to the Beeb, Deputy Assistant Commissioner Cressida Dick said: “If you are asking me did we do anything wrong or unreasonable, then I don’t think we did.”
You shot him in the head. Seven times.
Christ on a stick.
As an addendum, should any more doubt as to the anti-excellence of this operation need be expressed, take a look at this compar-a-tron of the guy supposed to be under watch compared to the guy who had his head ventilated. Similar, no? Correct. No.

You took the article right out of my mouth Scott. I was in the process of preparing an epic invective in light of this Dick’s comments, but you have spared me the air of aggression and limited intelligence that is normally associated with people who swear 14 times in one sentence.
Ms. Dick; if your officers did nothing wrong Mr de Menezes would still be here. It’s that simple. You quite clearly made a mistake in that YOU KILLED AN INNOCENT MAN AFTER MISTAKING HIM FOR SOMEONE YOU WERE SUPPOSED TO HAVE UNDER “SPECIALIST” SURVEILLANCE. Allowing two officers to shoot an innocent man in the head seven times does not strike me as “specialist”. And let’s not mention the fact that it would have been 9 shots to the head had one of your “trained experts” not actually missed a shot from a distance of 8 centimetres, and had another round jam. That’ll be “specialist” markmanship and “specialist” gun maintenance while we’re at it.
